This client wanted their trellises to look as similar to Solage and the “Healdsburg Home” but without on-site installation. The client ordered maximum density, single weave wattle panels with painted conduit for extra support since the beams were set more than three feet apart. The panels were set into a metal frame, constructed with angle steel, so the edges of the panels would be covered, to look as though the willow was woven on site.
These panels were, also, treated with fire retardant, three months after delivery. Due to the rampant California fire season, these panels had to be treated to comply with fire insurance and county regulations. The panels can only be treated after they’ve dried out for maximum absorption. Fire retardant application is dependent on the local regulations and must be applied by a contractor or professional.
