Her name was Isabella Murphy. She will be a sophomore in high school next year. Jenna is helping train her. There is always some hesitation hiring an intern with no experience but I always remember the chances I was given growing up. I worked at @harleyfarms farms in middle school and then Pescadero Country Store throughout high school. I didn’t make very much money but I did learn the value of making my own money and learning to work at a young age. I am excited to pass that on here at the farm. Even if Isabella doesn’t end up wanting to farm, she will have, hopefully, left here with some valuable skills and a different perspective on food and agriculture. She’s already heard the “time-and-motion” lecture from dad multiple times, a famous lecture of his amongst all who have worked at The Willow Farm. Isabella’s internship was two months as she had to return to school. Our standard internship program lasts for three months with the opportunity to be hired as a part-time or full-time employee. Please reach out to us at info@thewillowfarm.com if you are interested in applying!
